Ülevaade
Uurimisrühm tegeleb nutikate funktsionaalsete sensormaterjalide väljatöötamisega tehnoloogiliste lahenduste tarbeks inimese elu olulistes valdkondades, nagu näiteks keskkonnakaitses ja meditsiinilises diagnostikas. Teadustöö on suunatud molekulaarse jäljendamise tehnoloogia abil biotundlike funktsionaalsete sensormaterjalide nn molekulaarselt jäljendatud polümeeride (MIP) väljatöötamisele. MIP sensormaterjale, erinevalt looduslikest retseptoritest, iseloomustab nende hea keemiline ja termiline stabiilsus, omaduste reprodutseeritavus ja valmistamise tehnoloogia odavus. MIP-de integreerimine piesogravimeetrilise, optilise või elektrokeemilise sensoriga võimaldab uuritava analüüti kvantitatiivset määramist märgisevabalt ja piisava tundlikkusega. Uurimisrühmal on välja töötatud lahendused MIP-sensorite valmistamiseks, mis on võimelised määrama nii keskkonna saasteaineid nagu antibiootikumid (sulfametisool, amoksitsilliin, erütromütsiin) kui ka kliiniliselt olulisi valke nagu IgG, neurotroofsed faktorid (BDNF, CDNF), viirusvalgud (SARS-CoV-2 nukleokapsiid- ja ogavalgud).
Tähtsamad tulemused
2023. aastal töötati välja elektrokeemilised sensorid SARS-CoV-2 antigeeni tuvastamiseks, mille tundlik element põhineb SARS-CoV-2 viirusvalgu suhtes selektiivsel MIP sünteetilistel retseptoritel. Valmistatud sensorid võimaldavad kiiret viirusvalgu kontsentratsiooni määramist proovis. Tulemused on avaldatud kõrge mõjufaktoriga ajakirjades „Biosensors and Bioelectronics“ ja «Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical».
