Ülevaade
Puidutehnoloogia labor tegeleb madalakvaliteediliste lehtpuuliikide väärindamisega uurides spooni ja spoonipõhiste toodete pinnaomadusi ja nende mõju liimliite tugevusele. Puidupinnaomadused sõltuvad puiduehitusest, veesisaldusest ja töötlemisprotsessi parameetritest ning on õhuniiskuse tõttu ajas muutuvad. Puidutehnoloogia laboris on olemas spetsiaalne spooni ja vineeri tootmise liin, millega saab kontrollida tehnoloogilise protsessi parameetreid ja valmistada nõutud pinnakvaliteedi ja omadustega spooni ja vineeri.
Tähtsamad tulemused
2023. aastal keskendus uurimistöö puitmaterjalide ja biopõhiste komposiitide tuletõkkeainega töötlemiseks sobilike meetodite uurimisele, et tooted vastaksid ehitus- ja transpordisektoris kehtivatele tulekindluse nõuetele. Uuring on esimene, kus kanepikiust ja PLA-maatriksist komposiite töödeldi uudse protoonse ioonse vedelikul põhineva tuletõkkeainega. Tuletõkkeainega töödeldud komposiitides suurenes niiskuse imendumine, kuid siiski näitasid tuletõkkeainega töödeldud komposiidid suurenenud tulekindlust.Koostöös liginullenergiahoonete uurimisrühmaga uuriti WoodLCC projektis meetodit puidu veesisalduse ja temperatuuri mõju hindamiseks pragude tekkele ja levimisele CLT paneelides, mis on oluline info CLTseinte elutsükli maksumuse arvutusteks. Koostöös polümeer- ja tekstiilitehnoloogia laboriga töötati välja uudsed termoplastsed tselluloosmaterjalid, mille mehaaniliste omaduste uuringutulemused andsid lootust nende edasisteks kasutamiseks pakendites asendamaks fossiilsest toormest valmistatud plaste. Erineva disainiga tselluloossete termoplastsete materjaliide vanandamisjärgsed mehaaniliste omaduste uuringu tulemusel selgitati välja vastupidavamad materjalid edasisteks tehnoloogilisteks katsetustusteks.
