Overview
The research focuses on two main special areas:1. Smart and energy efficient environments. How tightening environmentalregulations affect shipping companies,ports and maritime markets? The studiesanalyse the present shipping business, andstudy how the new fuels, vessel design andoperative changes will affect the shippingbusiness models and operations. Researchis multidisciplinary and various methodscan be used.2. Future governance. The functioning andcompetitiveness of shipping companies,port, and maritime sectors in variousshipping market situations: cargo andpassenger volumes, financial situations,availability of the fleet, even policies andpublic opinion. This work is closely donewith either authorities or companies, andoften also directly from their request.
