Ülevaade
Linna veesüsteemide uuringud keskenduvad hüdrauliliste süsteemide (eelkõige linna sademe- ja joogiveevõrgud) töö optimeerimisele, planeerimisele, arendamisele, juhtimisele ning riskide hindamisele ja maandamisele. Sademeveesüsteemide alane teadustöö keskendub süsteemide digitaalsete kaksikute rakendamisele ja parendamisele, mis võimaldab vähendada üleujutusriski tiheasustusega linnapiirkondades. Allveeakustika uuringud keskenduvad Läänemere ümbritseva veealuse heli analüüsile, inimtekkelise müra osakaalu ja selle kahjuliku mõju potentsiaali mereelustikule hindamisele.Mittepurustava kontrolli uuringud: eksperimentaalsete ja numbriliste meetodite arendamine uudse tehnoloogia väljatöötamiseks kaasaegsete konstruktsioonide (lennukid, elektrituulikud) ja materjalide (komposiit-, kihtlisandmaterjalid) inspekteerimiseks ja monitoorimiseks. Laeva- ja merekontruktsioonide uuringud keskenduvad konstruktsioonide käitumise analüüsimisele, piirkoormuste hindamisele, laeva meresõiduomaduste analüüsimisele ja vedeliku ning konstruktsiooni vastasmõju uurimisele deformeeruvate konstruktsioonide korral. Uurimistöö põhineb peamiselt eksperimentaalsel ja numbrilisel modelleerimisel.Turbulentse segamise protsesside käigus uuritakse ühe- ja kahesuunaliste vahetusvoogude dünaamikat mööda kanalit taustapöörise mõjul.
Tähtsamad tulemused
2023. aasta tulemused:Sademeveesüsteemide seireks mõeldud mittekontaktsete veetaseme andurite arenduse ja testimise käigus täiustati andurite riist- ja tarkvara poolt, täiendades andmete salvestamise ja edastamise protokolle, et mh vähendada andurite energiatarvet.Mittepurustav kontroll: Torustike põlvede monitoorimise alal töötati välja geodeetiliste võrrandite meetod, mis võimaldab täpsemalt eraldada erinevaid torus levivaid ultraheli lainegruppe. See on oluline defektide avastamise ja karakteriseerimise pöördülesannetes.Meretehnika: Loodi arvutusmudel parvlaev Estonia põhjakontakti modelleerimiseks. Viidi läbi erinevate stsenaariumite numbrilised simulatsioonid laeva ja merepõhja vahelise kontaktprotsessi modelleerimiseks, hinnati laeva kere vigastusi ja võrreldi neid vrakilt mõõdetud vigastustega.
