Ülevaade
Uurimistöö on keskendunud eelkõige alljärgnevatel uurimissuundadele ja nendega seotud tööstuslikele rakendustele: (a) kulumiskindlad keraamilis-metalsed komposiidid (kõvasulamid ja kermised) peamise fookusega kriitiliste toorainete (critical raw materials) vähendamisele; (b) rasksulavate ühenditete baasil keraamikamaatrikskomposiidid/tehnokeraamika; (c) kulumiskindlad komposiitkõvapinded fookusega kriitiliste toorainete vähendamisele pinnetes; (d) õhukesed kõva- ja teemantpinded; (e) materjalide taaskasutustehnoloogiad; (f) materjalide ja toodete karakteriseerimine: koostis, mikrostruktuur, mehaanilised ja triboloogilised (hõõrdumine ja kulumine) omadused.
Tähtsamad tulemused
2023. a olulisemad tulemused: 1) kriitiliste toormaterjalide (Co, Ni, W) vabade kermiste tehnoloogia edasiarendus sh edusammud selliste materjalide kihtlisandustehnoloogias; 2) uuringute käivitamine kõrgentroopiakarbiidide baasil kermiste valdkonnas; 3) Fe-baasil kõvapinnete in situ pealesulatustehnoloogia arendus; 4) tekstiilijäätmete kasutamisega, polüpropüleeni baasil komposiitide tehnolooga väljatöötamine; 5) e-jäätmete taaskasutustehnoloogia edasiarendus
